Picasso Museum Antibes
Pablo Picasso donated many works to the Picasso museum in Antibes (formerly the Grimaldi Museum). The Picasso museum will delight fans and new comers to his style alike. The setting is dramatic, overlooking the Antibes seafront.
An interesting selection of works from different periods of Picasso’s life as well as numerous photos documenting his time in Antibes make up the first indoor section of the visit, followed by a garden containing sculptures looking out to sea.
I thoroughly enjoyed this insight into Picasso’s time in Provence. The Museum is of good quality and explains and contextualises the work effectively.
If you already know Picasso, you will know whether not this is for you. If you are not yet familiar with his work, this is a great opportunity to get to know it in a beautiful city center where there is also plenty of other things to do.
